The questions that actually matter
You're about to trust us with a meaningful decision — and maybe your family's birth details. Here are straight, unspun answers to the hard ones.
Is this AI?
Yes. Names Done Right uses AI as an assisted synthesis layer, and we're upfront about it. AI can assist with bounded candidate expansion, interpreting the preferences and feedback supplied through intake, and report wording.
Structured reference data and deterministic code — not the AI — own factual checks such as returned popularity evidence, spelling arithmetic, and safety rules. The workflow runs those deterministic data and safety checks before the scheduled reveal, applies the constraints you supplied, and flags uncertainty. You're getting a data-grounded report, not a generic chat response.
Isn't this just ChatGPT? Can't I do this myself for free?
Yes. Free name databases, chatbots, and partner-matching tools may meet your needs. You can use them to research names and compare your preferences. Names Done Right brings a structured intake, source-grounded checks, a tailored report, private partner ranking, and decision exercises into one process. You are paying to have those pieces brought together for your family. Read the fictional sample report before deciding whether that is useful to you.
Is this a real service? Is it safe to pay you?
Yes, it's a real service, and checkout is secure. Names Done Right is currently operated by Amarnath Holdings LLC and created by Barry Ram. It does not claim to be a large team. Read more about who's behind it and contact support by email.
We'd rather give you concrete ways to judge us than ask for blind trust. Before you spend a cent, you can read a clearly labeled complete fictional sample report, see our transparent methodology page, and review the published policy.
On payment safety: checkout runs on Stripe, one of the most widely used and trusted payment processors in the world. Your card details go straight to Stripe over an encrypted connection — they never touch our servers and we never see or store your full card number.
Do I have to pick a tradition like numerology or astrology?
No. Tradition layers are entirely optional and turned off by default. You'll get an excellent, data-grounded shortlist with no tradition layer at all if that's what you want — most of the work is meaning, sound, fit, and popularity, none of which require a tradition.
If your family values numerology, astrology, a Vedic nakshatra reading, or gematria, opt into any of those layers at intake. Every layer you opt into is included with the paid report at no separate layer charge; none is added without your say-so.
I haven't had the baby yet — can I still use Names Done Right?
Yes — Names Done Right is designed to be used before the baby arrives. That's actually the ideal time. Our intake is built around expecting parents: you share your due date and, optionally, the parents' birth details, and we build your shortlist from there.
If you've chosen a tradition layer that depends on the baby's exact birth details (such as a Vedic nakshatra reading), here's the part we love: after your baby is born, you can send us the actual birth date, time, and place, and we'll do a free post-birth nakshatra refinement. You get the planning value now and the precision later, at no extra cost.
Already had your baby? That's perfectly fine too — Names Done Right works just as well after the birth.
How soon will I get my report?
Most reports are scheduled within a few hours of a completed intake. We don't deliver the instant you finish the form: the report is built from your intake, runs through our data checks, and arrives as a scheduled reveal rather than a raw file mid-typing.
After intake, we show the planned reveal time so you know your delivery window. If anything ever delays us beyond what we told you, we'll let you know honestly.
What if I don't like the names you give me?
Then we fix it — that's the whole point of having a guarantee instead of just hoping. Naming is personal, and not every shortlist lands on the first try.
Every paid package includes exactly one free revision: tell us what didn't work — too trendy, wrong feel, clashes with your last name, or an opted-in tradition layer wasn't reflected — and we'll send one refreshed shortlist shaped by your feedback.
The 14-day satisfaction window starts after complete-order delivery: the digital report for Decision Sprint, digital and actual book delivery for Keepsake, and digital/book delivery plus the included call for Heirloom. You can raise issues earlier. We handle quality or fit concerns under our Refund Policy; a fair resolution may include a partial or full refund. Non-delivery, materially off-brief work, defects and statutory rights have the stronger remedies stated there.
What do the printed-book tiers include, and when do they ship?
The $299 Keepsake adds the shared Naming Studio and one 48-page, 6 × 9-inch softcover to the digital naming service. The $597 Heirloom includes an expanded report, one hardcover instead of the softcover, and one live 15–30 minute naming call. Both include up to ten Studio refinement rounds and the Story of Your Name finale. The Studio becomes read-only 60 days after your supplied due date.
Our operator prepares the print edition after your digital reveal. You approve the actual text, spelling and U.S. mailing address before it goes to Lulu as a private print-only project. Standard trackable shipping to the 50 U.S. states and DC is included; applicable tax is shown before payment. No inventory is printed in advance.
We send tracking and the current estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date. If we cannot ship within 30 calendar days of a completed order, or an earlier agreed shipment time, we seek your affirmative agreement to a revised date or cancel and promptly refund your order. Silence is not print approval or consent to delay. See our Terms.
We check fonts and the requested writing system before printing. We do not silently transliterate unsupported characters. If we cannot produce the agreed edition, or a book arrives damaged, incorrect or not at all, contact us for correction or the remedies in our Refund Policy. You do not have to resolve a supplier problem yourself.
How is the Heirloom naming call arranged?
Barry Ram, the creator and day-to-day operator of Names Done Right, leads the included 15–30 minute call. He built this report workflow and handles its customer support and printed editions. After verifying your paid Heirloom order, he emails you to agree on a time.
Bring your report and the question holding up your decision. Together you review your finalists and shared favorites, talk through one or two remaining concerns, and choose a next exercise or comparison. You can discuss optional traditions you selected. The call helps you use the report; it is not professional advice or a guarantee that both partners will choose the same name.
No unpaid booking is required to buy. We do not record or transcribe the call without separate agreement. If a time needs changing or we cannot provide the call, contact [email protected]; your published refund rights remain in place.
How is my birth and family data handled?
We treat birth dates and family details as exactly what they are: sensitive, personal information. Here's our honest approach.
We only ask for what a feature needs. A basic shortlist doesn't require anyone's birth details. We request birth information only when you opt into a feature that genuinely uses it — like a tradition layer or your post-birth nakshatra refinement — and you consent to each of those separately at intake. Optional really means optional.
We never sell your data. Your details are used to create your report and support you — full stop. We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
For printed books: Lulu receives only your approved print edition and the recipient/shipping details needed for production and delivery. We do not upload raw intake, birth dates, birth times, birth places or private access links. A private project is not publicly listed, but the printer and carrier need access for fulfillment.
You stay in control. You can ask us what we hold, and you can ask us to delete it. Email support to make a privacy request. The complete details — what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your rights — are in our privacy policy.
